Pate Early Childhood Center

Occupied in February of 1999, Pate is the most recent addition to the district's facilities. Built with monies from a $6.65 million bond issue the facility features 40 modern classrooms, art room, music room, large library, and gymnasium with seating for 500. Nearly 700 students attend the Kindergarten through Third Grade facility. The Kindergarten program is a full day. The Parent-Teacher Association and the district Volunteer Program are very active. There are 21.7 students per classroom on the average. Pate is fully integrated for computer technology.
Reading is emphasized strongly at Pate through the Balanced Literacy program. Decision-making and character education is taught through the Great Expectations program.
